The first hospitality project to come up under the new Punjab Eco-Tourism Policy is close to Nangal/Nawanshahr in Punjab. A number of sustainability features including extensive use of bamboo makes this a unique project. The DEWATS system, Gobar Gas Plant, and local river boulder in gabbion cages were all used. Filler slabs, shallow vaults, jack arches were done in the intermediate slabs. A trip to Alang helped in sourcing pre-used deckwood (used for joinery), kitchen equipment, generators etc.
